It might be known as a southern thing, but red velvet got its start in New York – and in Brooklyn, we really know our red velvet cake. In fact, we’ve even got a bakery where that’s the only thing on the menu. Here we love that sweet, slightly cocoa-y, cream cheese frosting-covered deliciousness so much we’d blend it up and drink it if we could. So we decided to do just that.
